Indoor and Outdoor Playgrounds in Singapore for children and family activities
School holidays are coming and here a list of ideas I found from Simply Her magazine recommended by Teo Kuan Yee where you can take your children for a great time out at the Indoor and Outdoor Playgrounds and parks.
Interactive Playground at Biolpolis at one-north Minutes away from Rochester Park, where the children can try out the slides, monkey bars, the outdoor playground has equipment ath apromotes cognitive development in childre. Kids can learn to reflect and focus sound at the parbolic dish (two vertical stainless steel dishes that create an acoustic space), play with the communal drum as well as experiment with the telephone tubes.
Minutes away from the Rochester Park, the family can go for Chinese, American or Italian cuisines. Try the family-friendly One Rochester, which serves Sunday brunch to the tunes of a live jazz band and plays host to monthly themed kids' parties.
Getting there : From Buona Vista MRT station, cross the overhead bridge, and walk along North Buona Vista Road towards MOE building.
Bottle Tree Park Bottle Tree Park is 10 mins walk from Khatib MRT. Entrance to the park is along Yishan Avenue 2. The park opens from 8am to midnight.
Situated within the 7-hectare kampong-style park, the playground comprises many slides and swings built into a sand pit. There are also fishing and prawning ponds (kids' pole fishing costs $14.50 an hour, inclusive of rod rental and bait), and a small pond for children to try 'drain' fishing at a cost of $10 per child.
Take a stroll around the park to view the 30 types of fruit tress and the four varieties of bottle trees imported from Australia. There is a weekend flea market and monthly events that are open to the public. Catch a bite at the restaurant there that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Splashing Fun Located at level 3 IMM at 2 Jurong EAst St. 21. It is 10 mins walk from Jurong East MRT station.
At the rooftop of IMM's newly constructed extension block is an open-landscape plaza featuring a children's playground and a new waterplay area with interactive water spray jets. After the fun, many eating places are available within the mall for you to feast on.
Vivo City Outdoor Playground Located at 1 HarbourFront Walk above HarbourFront MRT station. This outdoor playgrond boasts interactive water features that shoot jets into the air, as well as play stations with swivels and see-saws. There is the sky park on the third floor which is an open area with shallow play pools the size of four Olympic-sized swimming pools. Swimwear not necessary for splashing around in the play pools.
Again, many eateries and shopping outlets are available after the fun where you can head for your next activities.
Galloping Fun at the Pasir Ris Park
Fantasy Land Playground at SunPlaza Park Located at the junction of Tampines Ave 7 and 9, in front of blocks 404 and 409. You can alight at Tampines MRT station and take a 10 mins walk from there.
At this playground, you can find menagerie of animal-themed play equipment, such as the 3m tall kangaroo with a crawling tunnel, plus cartoon see-saw and slides made to resemble elephants and crocodiles. A large sandpit with various features like a 20m long cableway ride for older kids.
Don't miss the exploratory experience at the Sense Discovery Garden where children can try out 'talking' tubes, chimes, fragrance stations and sliding beads. Bring along your pinic basket and your favourite book for a good lazy afternoon there.
