Great Family Travel Adventure Destinations
When I was little, many stories and legends were told to me of the head hunting tribes in Sabah. (If you visit the Monsopiad’s Village which is outskirt of Kota Kinabalu (state capital of Sabah), you may see skulls being hang from the rafters of houses. These skulls are regarded as powerful spiritual talismans and are still treated with great respect.
For most tribes, including Sabah’s Murut and Kadazandusun - the taking of heads was a complex cultural ritual carried out only on specific occasions. Thankfully, with civilisation, they no longer practice any of the ritual.
