The authorities have divided foreign workers who are not Singapore Permanent Residents into two groups.
1. Those who earn monthly basic salary of above $2,500 (under Employment Pass)
2. Those basic monthly salary of S$2,500 or less (under Work Permit)

You will need a local sponsor in the form of a Singapore registered corporation (usually your employer) when applying for the Employment Pass or work permit. You may also apply for Dependant's Passes for a spouse and unmarried children under 21 years old. Dependant's Passes can be applied together with the Employment Pass at :
