Best Nature walks in Singapore

There are many good places for nature walk, including many parks and even on one of Singapore's smaller islands.

Bukit Timah and Central Catchment nature reserve
It is one of the most popular nature walks in Singapore. This nature reserve covers an area of 164 ha and is the oldest primary rainforest. It has Singapore's highest hill (163m) and is also home to more than 840 flowering plants and over 500 species of animals.
The number of plants species grow in this Reserve is more than that in the whole of North America and new species continued to be discovered here up to these days.

For walks, there are 4 routes ranging from easy to difficult, taking approxiately 35 mins to 2 hours.
Going on a tour with a volunteer guide is the best way to see and learn more about this special forest. Free guided walks are held at 4pm on scheduled weekends. The walk will take about one hour.

Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve
SBWR is my family's favourite nature walk. Set in 130 hectures of mangroves, mudflats, ponds and secondary forest, Sungei Buloh is natural habitat to many plants, insects, animals and migratory birds. Because of it's ecological importance, it was developed into a nature park in 1989.
