Restaurants By the Singapore Bay
We were at One Fullerton which is located directly at the Merlion Park, an iconic place in Singapore.
It is quite a romantic venue for dinner except for the small crowd near the Merlion statues. (Just be sure to stay away from statues if you want some privacy)
Sitting by the Bay dining or having a drink relaxing and watching the passing bumboats could be one of the nicest things to do with your loved ones. Across the bay you could see the Esplanade and the future Integrated Resort currently under contruction.
There are many restaurants at One Fullerton. Some new ones have sprung up since we last visited months ago.
These are the restaurants there : Pierside Kitchen and bar - simple decoration but looked welcoming
Stuart Anderson’s Black Angus Steakhouse - Nice ambience, good food and reasonable pricing. We were there once on a weekday and we had excellent value for money set lunch.
Starbucks - Singaporean youth’s all time favourite
HRu Dining Sake Bar - quite empty, not sure if the food is good.
Palm Beach Seafood Restaurant - Palm Beach is an established brand in Singapore. Well known for it’s good seafood, not surprisingly that it was packed.
SanoBar Fine Lebanese Cuisine - looks popular with tourists, many are hanging around with a drink in their hands.
We didn’t eat at any of the restaurants that night there as we had our dinner already. We went across to the Esplanade and could hear the blasting music as we were approaching the makeshift outdoor performance stage. (The original stage is under contruction to extend it to the sea)
Nex to the makeshift stage is a new Hawker street called the Makansutra Glutton Bay. We found the lighting there too strong and too bright….the lights and the crowd make the whole place very warm. The tables were placed too closely together too, I would not like to have dinner here even if we had not had our dinner. I feel that this food street is poorly done and the first impression was no good.
