The Ethnic quarter walking tour
In the early history of Singapore, migrants from different part of the World like China, India, Malaysia quickly settled down in Singapore in search of living and greener pasture. They began to congregate in different
parts of Singapore according to their ethnic group and together with the rich cultures brought along by them, forms the different ethnic quarters.
Today, Singapore main population is made up of the Chinese, Malay and Indian plus a minority group of the Eurasian.

One best way to have a deeper appreciate of the different ethnic groups that co-existed harmoniously is to take the ethnic tours.
Use this opportunity to savour the wide variety of cuisine offered by the different races, guarantee to be an enriching experience.

There are 3 ethnic quarter walking tours :
1) Little India Walk - covering Serangoon Rd, Pertain Road, Race Course Road, Jalan Besar, Mayo St. and Dunlop St.(nearest MRT station is Little India station)
2) Chinatown Walk - covering Telok Ayer St., Eu Tong Sen St., Keong Saik Rd, Neil Rd, Club St etc.. (nearest MRT is Raffles Place MRT station or Chinatown station)
3) Kampong Glam Walk - covering Kampong Glam and Geylang Serai. (nearest MRT station is Bugis MRT or Paya Lebar station)

Again, I would recommend engaging an experience walking guide in order to get most out of these ethnic and cultural walks. Our recommendation is Journeys Pte Ltd.

Nature Walk
Although Singapore is a city, it has many nature reserves. This is part of the Government's plan to preserve some of it's rainforests and many of it's local fauna and flora. These walks are not quite sightseeing walks but rather more for the purpose of getting up close to nature. These are some of the good ones if you are interested.

Timah Nature Reserve
Singapore primary rainforest. It has a wide variety of plant species. The number of plants species grow in this Reserve is more than that in the whole of North America.

Sentosa Dragon Trail Nature Reserve
You can plan this as part of the activities when you visit Sentosa, Singapore's resort island.

MacRitchie Reservoir Nature Reserve
Favourite venue for hikers, joggers, couples and families. Good for bird watching. Look out for monitor lizards, squirrels, giant milipedes and terrapins. The latest addition is a suspended bridge for visitors to do the 'tree-top walk'.

Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve
This nature reserve is our family favourite natural walk venue. It is set in mangrove, mudflats and water ponds. You may spot some of the migratory birds here.
